A couple of weeks ago, eMachines, a subsidiary of Acer, announced the stylish EZ1601 all-in-one desktop PC, on the basis of Intel Atom processor. Currently eMachines EZ1601 has become available for purchase in Europe.
Acer eMachines EZ1601 comes with an 18.5-inch LCD display, an Intel Atom N270/945 processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard disk drive, DVD drive. In principle, nothing special, but its price is very attractive. It is noticeably lower than those offered by competitors for similar solutions.
Recommended retail price for Acer eMachines EZ1601 is €399 (about $399), but some retailers offer new cheaper for €390. This allows eMachines EZ1601 claim to the cheapest on the all-in-one PC market Intel Atom-based, and not least, the price will decline, as manufacturers strive to make EZ1601 widely available. The majority of similar solutions are sold in more than €430 and some nettops is up to €500. Despite the relatively low price, some still consider the cost of such high nettop. In fact, for €400 is already possible to buy a 15-inch or 17-inch notebook with a primary class of more powerful processor, large amounts of RAM and hard drive.
