AIS Rugged 10.4-inch Tablet PC, low cost and available now
American Industrial Systems (AIS) began selling Low Cost Rugged Tablet PC with 10.4-inch touch screen display, designed for use in the extreme conditions, field service (in manufacturing, industrial premises, in the street, etc.).
Rugged Tablet PC is made of durable magnesium alloy body, meets the requirements of the US military standard MIL-STD-810F. This means that the device is not afraid of strikes and falling on a hard surface, shaking, as well as dust and moisture. In addition, the AIS computer can operate over a wide temperature range from -20 to +60 degrees Celsius.
The basis of AIS Rugged Tablet PC is an Intel Atom N270 processor with a clock frequency of 1.6 GHz and a motherboard based on Intel 945 GSE chipset. The amount of RAM in the base configuration is limited to 512MB DDR2 400/533, 80GB HDD 2.5-inch SATA (Industrial Compact Flash Card, 2.5-inch Automobile HDD or 2.5-inch Solid State Disk).
Its screen tablet has 10.4-inch with 800×600 pixel resolution and has a brightness of 230 cd/m2. This rugged PC equipped with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth adapter, are allowed to connect the 3G and GPS-receiver.
Rugged Tablet PC has size 311x232x45 mm, weight is about 2.2kg; its battery has provides almost three hours. It is running on Windows XP OS.
