Chinese company, TCL, produces mobile phones under the brand Alcatel, is preparing to release its first Android phone, namely Alcatel OT-980.
The Alcatel OT-980 is looks like a Palm Pre smartphone. It also performed in the slider form factor and it is equipped with sliding QWERTY keyboard. In addition, the Alcatel OT-980phone is equipped with a resistive touchscreen with a resolution of 320×240 pixels, GPS, an accelerometer, a microSD card slot, 3.5mm audio jack, 192MB RAM, and a 2 megapixel camera. Alcatel OT-980 is powered by 600MHz processor and Android 1.6 OS.
It is known that sales of the Alcatel OT-980 with the Orange France would begin closer to the middle of 2010. Announcement of new Alcatel OT-980 will be held later this month at the Mobile World Congress 2010 (MWC 2010).
