Amazon Kindle DX, official announcement

May 7th, 2009 | Filed under Miscellaneous 0 Comments

Finally it is confirmed from Amazon today launches its new Amazon Kindle DX, an Amazon Kindle version but with a larger screen and with support for PDF.

Technically, this new Kindle offers the same as the rest, a wireless connection wherever you are within the U.S. to access Amazon, Wikipedia, etc. It is eBook reader with a 9.7 inch screen and with 16 levels of gray, a 4GB memory, new battery improved to support the next screen and keep the same level as previous versions, native support for PDF files also. You can change this position Kindle DX, i.e. you can rotate it through an internal sensor adapted to rotate the display position.

But, this new Kindle DX has a reason to exist, it is simply to keep the newspapers, which for years have been looking for a device which maintain the natural structure of a regular paper, but under half traditional, something that does rather than exacerbate the problems if they are not adapt at 100%.

This new Amazon Kindle DX is available for $ 486, about € 367 at the current exchange rate, but will not be sent until this summer (summer in the U.S., of course).
