Active Media Products (AMP) expands its SSD product line with a new SaberTooth family, labeled S3. It is directed mainly to the holders of Asus Eee PC netbooks, who want to increase their capacity netbook.
The new AMP SaberTooth S3 series drives are available in three capacities: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. AMP SaberTooth S3 SSD is based on the Mini-PCIe connector; it has an integrated SMI controller and is based on MLC memory chips. They offer data transfer speeds of 70MB/s and 95MB/s (write/read). AMP SaberTooth S3 SSD is covered by the one-year warranty. Their price is respectively $69, $89 and $159 for the models of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. Two of them are with a capacity of 32GB and 64GB are now available at Amazon.com.
