Active Media Products (AMP) today announced a new series of solid state drives (SSD) called AMP SaberTooth ZT.

This AMP SSD is based on a MLC (multi-level cell) NAND flash memory technology. The AMP SaberTooth ZT SSD has 1.8-inch form factor and designed for use in ultraportable computers and netbooks.

Currently, AMP SaberTooth ZT SSD is comes in 32GB and 64GB of capacities. It is delivering up to 100 MB/s of read and up to 85 MB/s of write. AMP SaberTooth ZT SSD is equipped with 32MB buffer for 32GB model, while 64 MB for 64GB version, and packs a ZIF connector and PATA interface.

According to Active Media Products, this SSD is consuming less than 2.6 watts in operating mode and 0.85 watts in idle mode. It is compatible with Linux, Mac OS X and Windows OS. Dimensions of AMP SaberTooth ZT SSD are 71x54x5 mm.

The AMP SaberTooth ZT SSD is available now for order with priced at $169.95 (32GB) and $299.95 (64GB).
