Apple intros iPod nano 6G with multitouch, smaller

Besides iPod touch and iPod shuffle player, Apple announces new redesigned iPod nano. It is the iPod nano sixth generation (iPod nano 6G). The previous model, the iPod nano 5G was released in September 2010. The new iPod nano is nearly half size and weight of iPod nano 5G. It has a polished aluminum and glass enclosure with a built-in clip.

New iPod nano player is coming with Apple Multi-Touch interface that replaces the click wheel. It is making easily users to access their songs, albums, artists, and playlists with a tap or swipe of their finger on a 1.54-inch capacitive touchscreen display (240 x 240 pixels). In addition, the new iPod nano has no built-in camera and supports video playback, but just music and pictures.

The new iPod nano 6G model is packs FM radio with Live Pause function (allows user to pause and resume playing your favorite FM radio shows without missing a beat), an accelerometer, and up to 24 hours of battery life. It is noted that the new iPod nano is 46% smaller and 42% lighter than its predecessor. However, it might look like the new iPod shuffle, but certainly iPod nano.

Dimensions of iPod nano 6G are 37.5 x 40.9 x 8.78 mm with weight 21.1g. The cost of iPod nano 6G with 8GB and 16GB is $149 and $179 respectively.
