Apple has patented several innovations related to the lineup of popular players, iPod. Some of these inventions have been used in existing models of players, for example, enhancements in the form of speakers and microphones. Other innovations are still purely theoretical. For example, Apple has patented the external memory, which can be connected to the player and thus increase the capacity of the device.
Furthermore, in addition to the existing accessory for wireless communications such as Bluetooth and FM transmitters, an Apple patent is considering the possibility of the iPod players with SIM card option. This feature can be useful in the exchange of data, including high-speed 3G networks, and allow making phone receive and call that will bring players to the functionality of iPhone.
