Asus is start shipping its cheap netbook, known as ASUS Eee PC 1001PX. This Intel Pine Trail netbook is presented in late March 2010. It is ready to ship and can be purchased the low sum of $279. This Asus 1001PX comes with black matte textured lid and palm rest.

The ASUS Eee PC 1001PX netbook is powered by a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor with an Intel GMA 3150 integrated graphics, 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB hard drive. The 1001PX packs a 10.1-inch display with matte finish and resolution of 1024×600 pixels, a 0.3MP webcam, a multi-card reader, Wi-Fi, 10/100 Ethernet, and a 3-cell 22W/h battery with enabling up to 4.5 hours of use.

It is pre-loaded with Windows XP OS but Asus will be launching a more expensive version with Windows 7 OS and a 6-cell battery.
