Asus EeeNAS D200: 2TB NAS with BitTorrent and DVD
Is it another product with Eee brand? Yes, Asus can’t stop bombarded over and over all with more products, usually in white and supposedly are cheap. The last specification is to call this Asus EeeNAS D200, a file server capable of storing up to 2TB storage files or backups.
The interesting thing is that it is virtually a computer in itself, includes a DVD recorder, using an Atom N270 processor at 1.6GHz, 2GB RAM, two 500GB disks to accept the default of 1TB, a BitTorrent client that allows you to download whatever you want without needing a computer (although this is a server itself).
It connects via ethernet to the LAN and can be configured to access the outside network, also includes a WiFi card to access from laptops without having to go through a router.
According to Asus includes its own UPS, so it can run without electricity for a time to save files. Use Windows XP, is maybe not what everyone seeks in a file server, but is offset by the price, 399 €.
