ASUS ESC 1000 supercomputer in desktop computer-sized
ASUSTeK Computer introduced its first supercomputer, ESC 1000. The device is the size of a standard desktop PC is capable of producing over 1.1 teraflops. These compact supercomputers can find application in many fields, including scientific research, imaging, engineering simulation, as well as the scope of medicine. We also note that ASUS ESC 1000 is designed for 64-bit computing.
ASUS ESC 1000 high performance is achieved through the use of advanced computing NVIDIA technology, including Quadro FX 5800 professional graphics card, and three Tesla C1060 accelerators, designed specifically for computer-intensive calculations. Together with 960 graphics processing cores and in combination with a 3.33GHz Intel LGA1366 Xeon W3580 microprocessor designed for servers is helps achieve the performance level of 1.1 teraflops.
Among other things, the ASUS ESC 1000 supercomputer is equipped with 24GB of DDR3 1333 memory, hard disk drive with a capacity of 500GB SATA II interface and power supply capacity of 1100 watts, and its body has dimensions of 445×217.5×545 mm. This ASUS ESC 1000 has a cost structure in software and hardware of US$14,519 over five years.
