Showcased at Mobile World Congress last week, the Asus FonePad 7-inch tablet would be available in Russia sometime this month. Reportedly, this Asus will be sold for cost 10,590 rubles (about 265 EUR) for 16GB model. That’s a bit higher than the recommended price for Europe (219 EUR). As we had known, the Asus FonePad tablet will be released in the UK in Q2 this year (probably in June).
The FonePad is actually the Asus’s first tablet to bring an Intel inside. It packs a 7-inch touchscreen LED backlight IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. New Asus FonePad sports a 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2420 processor with PowerVR SGX540 GPU. Running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, this gadget brings 1GB of RAM and 16GB / 32GB of internal memory expandable via microSD card (support up to 32GB).
Asus FonePad brings dual cameras (3MP rear- and 1.2MP front-facing) but there are versions come without rear camera. It is equipped with 3G (HSPA+), Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS / GLONASS. Its 4270 mAh battery is enabling up to 9 hours of video playback. Dimensions of Asus FonePad are 196.4 x 120.1 x 10.4 mm and weigh 340 grams.
The new Asus Fonepad allows you to make and receive phone calls, which using the built-in digital noise canceling microphone or Bluetooth headset (optional). Furthermore, it is also able to send / receive SMS and MMS.
