ATI Radeon HD 5870 and 5850, first graphics card support DirectX 11
As expected, AMD has introduced a new series of ATI Radeon HD 5800 graphics cards, 5870 and 5850. This is the world’s first accelerator technology to support Microsoft DirectX 11, said AMD. ATI Radeon HD 5800 supports several proprietary technologies: ATI Eyefinity for display at several displays at once, ATI Stream to speed up video processing and other tasks, ATI CrossFireX to work together up to 4 cards, and ATI Avivo HD to work more effectively with video capture and transcoding.
The first two series graphics cards, ATI Radeon HD 5800 equipped with 1GB of memory GDDR5. The ATI Radeon HD 5870 is equipped with 1600 stream processors, core clock speed of 850 MHz, the ATI Radeon HD 5850 is 1440 stream processors and core operates at a clock frequency of 725 MHz. Both graphic cards include 2.15 million 40-nanometer transistors, the interface supports PCI Express 2.1 x16, equipped Dual Link DVI port, DisplayPort, HDMI 1.3 and VGA. In addition, the boosters support 7.1 surround sound formats such as AC-3, AAC, Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master. According to AMD, new items are perfect for computers based on the new Windows 7 operating system.
