According to EE Times, AT&T Telecommunications Company intends to expand its presence in the netbook market through decisions on the platform of ARM. This American mobile operator has started selling subsidized models netbook four in Atlanta and Philadelphia, and then they are to be sold throughout the United States. The early signals have been Acer Aspire One, Dell Mini 9, LG X110 and the Dell Mini 12, offered at prices from 100 to 350 dollars, together with the operator’s contract.

EE Times quoted Glenn Lurie a senior speaker company that the AT&T controls about 90% of the telephone market in the United States and considers netbook as a good opportunity for further development. According to Lurie, AT&T helps the OEM producers to design and choose the chipsets for future products, and hopes soon to offer in addition to the usual hardware on x86 processor netbook on new ARM chips.

However, the expansion of devices offered by AT&T may not be limited to one netbooks. In any case, EE Times reports on plans of the mobile operator for the development of portable navigation devices, electronic books, and even digital cameras. Naturally, all these alleged products will be compatible with AT&T communications services.
