Like other carriers, AT&T has also rolled out Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone. Meanwhile, the update will adopt some security improvements and a few new features into the Galaxy S5.
According to the official changelog, Samsung Galaxy S5’s Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update offers Android for Work and major security enhancements. The update brings a fix to Ultra Power Saver mode combined with On Device Encryption.
Since October 22nd, owners of AT&T carrier-branded Galaxy S5 smartphone can download the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop upgrade through FOTA (firmware over the air) method. However, you’ve to connect a Wi-Fi network to ensure the download works fine.
The software update for the Samsung Galaxy S5 on AT&T is between 610MB and 1GB in size. Keep in mind that you will provide enough storage capacity space before trying upgrades the handset with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. If you haven’t received the update yet, you can be sure to receive it soon. However, you can also download the firmware file manually and flash it yourself but we still suggest waiting for the official update to appear on your phone for a hassle free update experience.
