The Taiwanese maker, AUO (AU Optronics) has developed three new screens for smartphones and tablet PCs. The first is a 4.46-inch 720p HD unit that claimed the world’s narrowest bezel, which to have just 1mm. It uses low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) process and has resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels with ultra-wide viewing angles.
Next, the 4.97-inch unit is also same LTPS process to manufacture this screen. This one has features a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and 443 ppi (pixels per inch).
As for tablets, AUO present out a 10-inch touchscreen display with just 1.5 mm thin. The screen is made by IGZO (indium gallium zinc oxide) technology. It has high energy efficiency, greater viewing angles and good color reproduction. The 10-inch unit has also resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels that found in the upcoming Nexus 10 tablet.
