BenQ nReader K60 e-Book Reader
BenQ has introduced its first e-book reader device, nReader K60 in Taiwan. Apparently, BenQ nReader K60 is equipped with a 6-inch touchscreen display with electronic paper (e-ink) technology. BenQ nReader K60 e-Book Reader has a resolution of 800×600 pixels and it can display 16 shades of gray.
The BenQ nReader K60 e-Book Reader supports such formats as ePub, PDF, TXT, and HTML for text, also pictures JPEG, BMP, GIF, or PNG formats and audio playback in MP3. User can listen through headphones with a 3.5mm audio jack. BenQ nReader K60 e-Book Reader has 2GB of internal memory (enough for approximately 4000 books), as well as slot for microSD card.
Moreover, the BenQ nReader K60 e-Book Reader has a Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, which can access the Internet. It is adding optional 3G/3.5G dongle via USB 2.0 port. Size of BenQ nReader K60 are 175x122x11 mm and weight is 220grams. The BenQ nReader K60 is quite compact, a touchscreen is enough to control the display and several buttons. It has built-in a 1530mAh battery which is good for 7500 pages.
BenQ nReader K60 e-Book Reader will be released in Taiwan in January 2010, and then in China and Japan. The cost of BenQ nReader K60 e-Book Reader will be 8900 Taiwan Dollars (about US$277). No word on availability of BenQ nReader K60 in Europe or USA.
