BlackBerry 8900 Javelin in the United States Next Year As The Curve

November 16th, 2008 Filed under Mobile Phones

Previously reported the existence of a non-3G version of the BlackBerry Bold which is codename Javelin. The device would be reported to have two versions in development to meet the specific demands of T-Mobile and AT & T, namely GPS and Wi-Fi, respectively.

Today, in a press release, RIM announced the German launch of Javelin as the BlackBerry 8900 Curve for T-Mobile Germany, but the biggest news was confirmation that the device would actually start to United States in the first quarter of 2009, confirming our original report.

The device specifications have also remained virtually unchanged since our last report to the same HVGA screen, keyboard, 3.2 megapixel camera with flash and video, OS 4.6, with support for Bluetooth stereo audio, expansion card slot microSD, loudspeaker, and the inclusion of Wi – Fi with GPS transmitter.
