Buffalo Technology introduced an external hard drive, DriveStation HD-HXU3, it is equipped with SuperSpeed USB 3.0. The USB 3.0 interface also known as SuperSpeed USB, allows data transfer at speeds of up to 5 Gbps. This is an order of magnitude higher throughput widespread for USB 2.0, the speed of data exchange which is up to 480 Mbps.
Buffalo DriveStation HD-HXU3 External Hard Drive is made on the basis of 3.5-inch hard drive, it will be offered in three versions in capacity of 1TB, 1.5TB, and 2TB. It offers SuperSpeed transfer speeds of up to 125MB/s with the computer, it also has compatibility with USB 2.0.
Along with the DriveStation HD-HXU3 External Hard Drive, Buffalo also announced a Buffalo USB 3.0 controller, as SuperSpeed USB Controller, IFC-PCIE2U3. Sales of both new Buffalo USB3.0 products in Europe will begin in the Q4 2009 and their estimated cost is not reported.
Recall, Freecom official introduced an external HDD with USB 3.0 interface last week. This Freecom external HDD USB 3.0 device, like the Buffalo HDD drive will be available in three versions with up to 2TB.
