Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR Camera with DIGIC 5+, 61-point AF [video]

As expected, Canon has officially announced its new digital SLR camera, the Canon EOS 5D Mark III. The camera is improved version of its discontinued-camera, the Canon EOS 5D Mark II. It delivers superb image quality that brings the latest features for EOS cameras.

The Canon EOS 5D Mark III boasts a 22MP full-frame CMOS sensor (36 x 24 mm). For image processing, new camera is using a DIGIC 5+ high-performance processor and a 61-point High Density Reticular Autofocus (AF) System.

Canon DSLR camera packs optical viewfinder, Compact Flash and SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card slots, a 3.2-inch Clear View II LCD screen, USB 2.0 and Mini HDMI ports.

Other feature is shutter speed range of 1/8000-30 seconds, sensitivity range of ISO 100-25600 (expandable to ISO 102,400). The maximum photo resolution to capture is 5760 x 3840 pixels and able to six frames-per-second (fps) continuous shooting speed. For video recording, Canon EOS 5D Mark III can produce video of 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels) at 24fps/25fps/30fps, while 720p format (1280 x 720 pixels) with up to 60fps.

Coming with a durable magnesium alloy casing, new EOS 5D Mark III camera is repels dust and dirt particles that bring a Self Cleaning Sensor Unit with a fluorine coating (Canon’s EOS Integrated Cleaning System).

Dimensions of Canon EOS 5D Mark III are 152 x 116 x 76 mm and weight 950 grams (with battery).

Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR camera will arrive in late March 2012 and price of $3,499 (body-only) or $4,299 complete with a Canon EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM zoom lens.
