Together with Ixus 220 HS camera, Canon today announced another new compact camera, the Canon PowerShot SX230 HS. The new camera is the Canon’s first compact camera with built-in GPS.

The Canon PowerShot SX230 HS camera is also a superzoom with 14x optical zoom (28-392mm) lens.

PowerShot SX230 HS is able to shoot Full HD video resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at 24 frames per second. It is pack a Super Slow Motion movie mode, which allows record 340×240 movies at 240fps and 1080p24 Full HD movies capture.

The Canon SX230 HS is equipped with optical image stabilization, a 3-inch screen, SD/SDHC/SDXC/MMC memory card slot, and HDMI interface. It has brings Smart Auto Scene Detection feature.

Canon is also introduced the Canon PowerShot SX220 HS that same specification of Canon PowerShot SX230 HS but without the GPS.

Dimensions of Canon PowerShot SX230 HS or SX220 HS are 106 x 59 x 33 and weighs about 215 grams.

Price of Canon SX230 HS is about $349.99 or €299 in the European market. The Canon SX220 HS has cost of €269.
