Casio has officially introduced its latest business tablet, namely the Casio V-T500. It has two models including the Casio V-T500-GE and the Casio V-T500E. The rugged tablet is promises suitable for various work styles. Coming with Casio’s advanced shock-resistant design, the Casio V-T500 is meets IP54 standards (dust and splash-proof) and withstands a drop of up to one meter.
The Casio V-T500-GE and V-T500E rugged tablet has a 10.1-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, stereo speakers, an accelerometer and light sensor. Its front and rear-facing cameras are packed by 5 megapixel sensors. Heart of new Casio V-T500 ‘Smart and Tough’ is a dual-core 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4460 processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage expandable with a microSD card.
In connectivity term, the Casio mobile computing device is Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, RFID, 3G HSPA/UMTS/EDGE/GPRS (Casio V-T500-GE only), a full-sized USB port, mini USB port, and mini HDMI.
Unlike most tablets, the V-T500 is use a user-replaceable battery that enough juice up to 10 – 12 hours of use. Running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, the shock-absorbing tablet has also secure enterprise authentication methods.
Dimensions of Casio V-T500 are 269 x 190 x 14.4 mm and weight 780 grams. Price of Casio V-T500-GE and V-T500E ruggedized tablet is not announced yet.
