Intel is developing a new generation of educational PCs, Classmate PC, which adopted by CTL 2go Classmate PC.
According to Intel, Both the convertible tablet and netbook Classmate PC with 10.1-inch touchscreen is redesign and make use the next generation Atom processors and the NM10 chipset. It will get Intel Pine Trail update. Compared with predecessors, it has 20% less power consumption, thereby increasing battery life netbooks.
The new Classmate PC will become smaller, but remain more resistant to physical influences. In addition, it also get more wireless connectivity option, like WiMAX and (or) 3G broadband. It is also possible that the convertible tablet and netbook Classmate PC will brings a bigger display (11.6-inch).
According to manufacture, Brazil and Turkey had purchased new Classmate PC, while Argentina has already placed orders for 250,000 new Classmate PCs.
