COOL-ER: pretty good and cheap e-book reader
The reality is the only thing that bothers me the readers of digital books is the very high price. For this simple reason I do not have one, the Kindle 2 is very expensive and all they can fight their characteristics as well. But it is logical that as we go passing the time and other companies are presenting their models the price will fall.
Perhaps this is the first case, at least the first interesting case. This is the COOL-ER, a device that according to its creator is “the iPod that e-readers were waiting,” referring to the revolution that lead to players from Apple.
The device has a ebook reader while not the best in the world but it is surely well-maintained finishes. The small measures 183x117x11mm and weighing only 178 grams, it has a 6-inch screen, 1GB internal memory, SD card slot, headphone jack and 2.5mm. COOL-ER has supports EPUB, TXT, any kind of PDF, and eight languages including Russian and traditional/simplified Chinese. Finally, it can play MP3 for audio and JPEG files.
There are eight various colors; Ruby Red, Blue Sky, Cool Pink, Hot Pink, Silver Shine, Vivid Violet, Racing Green, and Black Jack. The good thing about this device is leaves almost half of the Kindle 2. It will be available for $ 250, it will be launched in Europe on May 29 and although lacks some features like WiFi.
