CrunchPad, cheap tablet PC and debuts in November
Online edition of Singapore Straits Times published the details of the CrunchPad tablet PC. We already mentioned about it in the news, CrunchPad conceived the TechCrunch project as inexpensive Internet tablet. Production of the Singaporean company is Fusion Garage.
CrunchPad equipped with 12-inch capacitive touch screen and built in the CPU, mainly used for netbook; an Intel Atom with a clock speed of 1.6 GHz. The amount of RAM is 1GB, also supports Wi-Fi and 3G, and USB port. CrunchPad is running a special Linux distro with a browser-based WebKit engine. Based on previous information, the internet tablet also has storage of 4GB and the camera. The size of the device is 324x198x18 mm, weight of a relatively small is 1.2 kg.
Also reported, CrunchPad cost is $399, relatively cheap for Tablet PC. Although, it is higher than originally estimated price, which is planned to establish in the range of $300. It has expected to issue CrunchPad in November.
