Dell EqualLogic PS6000, storage arrays
Dell has announced the release of a family of storage array, Dell EqualLogic PS6000 series; PS6000E, PS6500E, PS6000X, PS6000XV and PS6000S. They provide customers with increased performance, storage virtualization capabilities and greater cost savings than in previous generations. EqualLogic PS6000 Family integrates into existing storage area networks (SAN) EqualLogic, forming a pool of virtualized storage. According to the company, the new hardware and software Dell EqualLogic helps enterprises easily to build on existing systems.
Among the features of Dell EqualLogic PS6000:
* It can perform operations consistent record at 91% faster, and consistent reading of the operation at 29% compared to previous generations.
* The first generation of storage arrays EqualLogic, maintaining solid state disk. Each array is equipped with a dedicated controller PS6000S SSD drives, and it can join in a group of several systems to a linear increase in productivity.
* It can support more than 500 TB of disk space for a group of PS Series.
* Added support for Microsoft Hyper-V Smart Copy Snapshots on the basis of the existing PS Series integration with Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL, VMware and Citrix XenCenter. In addition, Dell EqualLogic PS6000 disk arrays support VMware vStorage ready.
* Dell has released a centralized information console SAN Headquarters, which monitors the performance and events in dozens of groups of disk arrays PS Series.
