Good news for Linux or Ubuntu lovers, Dell has recently added an OS option for its two interesting laptops, the Dell Precision M3800 Mobile Workstation and Dell XPS 13 ultrabook. As alternative existing Windows OS, it will give their customers to use another software what they need it and of course, reducing price tag of devices.
The Precision M3800 has an Ubuntu 14.04 LTS option that gets $101.50 off the price tag. Well, customers have to pay only $1533.50 (even it’s still expensive). New Dell XPS 13 ultrabook will come with an Ubuntu-powered developer edition software.
Specs-wise, the Dell Precision M3800 has a 15.6-inch full HD display and option for a 3840 x 2160 pixel touchscreen display. This Mobile Workstation packs 8GB of RAM (up to 16GB of RAM), and 500GB hard drive. There are also an Intel Core i7 Broadwell processor and NVIDIA Quadro K1100M graphics. Company is also offering some configurations such as a bigger battery, as well as additional storage (and solid state storage).
The Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition is a little smaller than the M3800. It is an ultrabook with a 13.3-inch display but coming in the size of a typical 11.6 inch model (5.2mm thin bezel around screen). Weighing about 2.6 pounds, this XPS 13 notebook boasted by an Intel Broadwell processor.
