Dell Precision M6500 notebook, world’s most powerful workstation

Dell has introduced their latest powerful notebook, called Precision M6500, positioned as a replacement for a desktop workstation. According to manufacture, it is the world’s most powerful workstation. Dell is offers Precision M6500 and Precision M6500 Covet, which differs on graphics accelerator and type of their screens.

Dell Precision M6500 is a powerful laptop in the most expensive configuration that can be equipped with an “extreme” quad-core Intel Core i7-920XM processor with a frequency of 2.0 GHz. Dell Precision M6500 can accommodate up to 16GB of RAM and two hard drives (HDDs) and solid state drives (SSDs) for a total capacity of over 1TB. Its optical drives is offers a DVD writer or Blu-ray drive.

The Dell Precision M6500 has a 17-inch UltraSharp WideScreen WUXGA RGB LED Edge2Edge Covet Display (for Dell Precision M6500 Covet) or a 17-inch Wide Screen WXGA+ LCD Panel (for Dell Precision M6500), both have a resolution up to 1920×1200 pixels. Their graphics accelerator is a 1.0GB ATI FirePro M7740 Graphics or 1.0GB NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800M Graphics.

Dell Precision M6500 Mobile Workstations also has brings an 8-in-1 card reader, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, webcam, GPS, and HSPA EVDO module. Optionally, it is possible to install the fingerprints reader. Dimensions of Dell Precision M6500 notebook are 393×280x34.5-38.5 mm and weight is around 4kg.

Dell Precision M6500 will be supplied with the Windows 7 operating system and a 6-cell battery. Cost of Dell Precision M6500 is starting price of $2,749 but Dell Precision M6500 Covet model is starting cost at $4,219.
