DynaVox Xpress Portable Assistant to help speech-impaired

DynaVox Mayer-Johnson presented a handheld communication devices or mobile device called Xpress, it is aimed, primarily, for people with speech impairments or lack the ability to speak altogether. This DynaVox Xpress will be able to “talk” instead of its owner, voicing typed on-screen text or phrases, selected from the dictionary. DynaVox Xpress is equipped with a 5-inch touch screen with a resolution of 800×480 pixels. Also, the device is equipped with a music player, wireless adapter; Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Provision and features such as calendar, and download new dictionaries, the amount of embedded flash memory is 8GB.
DynaVox Xpress has standard battery for 3.5 hours and battery high capacity is up to 8 hours. The device placed in a durable magnesium alloy casing, and weighs between 770 to 952 grams depending on the battery. DynaVox Xpress sales will begin in end of August 2009, its value has not yet been announced.
