At consumer electronics show in Berlin (Germany), IFA 2009, Elonex has demonstrated several mini-computers of a new type. IFA’s visitors can see at the Elonex booth, the smartbook prototype, a compact device that represents a middle ground between smartphone and netbook. This device is equipped with 7-inch display (resolution not specified), is based on ARM-based processor. This smartbook has two USB 2.0 ports, card reader and audio jacks. Since the thickness of the shell doesn’t have standard Ethernet port, there is no space, so this tiny netbook is attached USB to Ethernet adapter. It is running on Windows CE operating system.

In addition, Elonex also has shown at the exhibition, Elonex WebBook. This device is equipped with 10-inch screen, VIA energy efficient processor and D-Sub connector for an external monitor. It is also noted that Elonex netbook prototype integrated with TV tuner.

Availability and price of this Elonex smartbook is not reported. Elonex Smartbook will be presented in white, black, pink and green color.
