Gembird, the Dutch company is getting prepare to showcased its new innovation device at the IFA 2013 conference, the EnerGenie ePP2. It is basically 9.7-inch eReader but has capability to function as a printer. Well, the ePP2 could be name as the ePaper printer since it’s being a virtual printer.
Users can just plug the EnerGenie ePP2 via its USB connector into computer (like PC or laptop). It will know as ‘the printer’ by your computer and allows print documents, photos, or other material straight to the EnerGenie ePP2 eReader as a PDF file. EnerGenie ePP2 ePaper printer could be your green movement for paperless task.
Hardware specifications of ePP2 are a 9.7-inch E Ink screen with a resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixel, which is larger than Kindle or NOOK device. Although eReader centric, the display is touchscreen capabilities with support for stylus. It will allow users to use it as notes, typing, or other environment.
Under the hood, the EnerGenie ePP2 brings an 800MHz processor, 256MB of RAM, and 4GB of internal storage. Running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread software, the ‘virtual printer’ device provides a 2350mAh battery and a microSD card slot. It has weighing about 600 grams and dimensions of 270 x 188 x 11.5 mm.
There is no word on official pricing but it’s expecting available between 399 and 499 Euros (about $530 to $660).
