Epson HTPS-TFT panels for ultra-bright, high-contrast PowerLite projectors in September
Seiko-Epson has announced the start of mass production of its 0.94-inch HTPS-TFT LCD panels is able to authorize up to 1920 x 1200 pixels (WUXGA). These panels are intended for use in 3LCD projectors, allowing them to issue “on the top” picture up to 1080p.
In addition, new Epson HTPS-TFT panels is capable of reaching the brightness level of images projected in the 5000 lumens (or more!) through proprietary image processing technology, Epson D7. It can achieve “higher than ever contrast” thought C2 Fine technology greatly improves the sharpness and contrast of the image.
Here are features of the new Epson HTPS-TFT panels:
* Support high-definition widescreen images
o 0.94″: WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels) – the world’s first WUXGA HTPS-TFT panel
o 0.95″: WXGA (1200 x 800 pixels)
* High brightness (5000 lumens or more) enabled by use of D7 process technology
* Benefits of C2 Fine, an original Epson technology for achieving high-quality, vivid images by combining an inorganic liquid crystal alignment layer with vertical alignment technology: High contrast, Smooth images, and Jet-black color reproduction
All this gives hope that the new 3LCD projectors, PowerLite Home Cinema projector with Full HD resolution and image quality, suitable for use in home theater, opens at the end of the year.
