Freecom Hard Drive XS 3.0, world’s first external HDD with USB 3.0
Freecom announced the development of external hard drive supports USB 3.0 interface (SuperSpeed USB), called Freecom Hard Drive XS 3.0.
The Freecom Hard Drive XS 3.0 is the only hard drive with USB 3.0, which will be available on a commercial basis. Specification of SuperSpeed USB (USB 3.0) is enables data transmission at speeds of up to 5 Gbps. For comparison: the capacity of the widespread USB 2.0 interface is 480 Mbps.
Freecom Hard Drive XS 3.0 external HDD is based on 3.5-inch hard drive encased in a compact rubberized body. It offers capacities of HDD: 1TB, 1.5TB, and 2TB of information. New Freecom Hard Drive XS 3.0 also compatible with USB 2.0 delivers transfer speeds up to 130 Mbps and supports high-speed hardware encryption with AES 256 bit. Freecom Hard Drive XS 3.0 has weighs about 860g.
Freecom Hard Drive XS 3.0 will be arriving in mid-November in Europe market. The cost of Freecom Hard Drive XS 3.0 for 1TB version is about 120 EUR, the price of other version does not specify.
