Fresco Logic FL1000, first USB 3.0 ExpressCard Adapter [IDF 2009]

Fresco Logic introduced the FL1000 Adapter, which supports USB 3.0 interface is backward-compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1, and PCI Express 1.0 and 2.0. Thus, this is combined solution USB 3.0 ExpressCard, it can be used to laptop to provide support USB 3.0 interface through an ExpressCard slot. Fresco Logic FL1000 includes transceiver USB 3.0 (5 Gbps) controller, USB 3.0 xHCI and PCI Express controller and transceiver.
Fresco Logic FL1000 series is the first USB 3.0 ExpressCard adaptor. It is worth mentioning that this USB 3.0 adapter was used during the demonstration on the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) 2009 for transfer of HD video from the camera to a laptop. According to Fresco Logic, FL1000 adapters are already available and mass production will begin in the fourth quarter of this year. As for devices that support the new USB 3.0 interface, they are likely to start appearing early next year.
