Fujitsu uses “One Watt” 500MHz VIA Eden ULV in FUTRO S100
VIA Technologies, Inc is able to gain a small but fairly significant victory for the promotion of its energy-efficient chips. A well-known manufacturer of Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation has decided to use the VIA Eden ULV processor with clock frequency of 500MHz in a Fujitsu FUTRO S100 thin client series. This CPU consumes only 1watt of electricity, even with a serious load.
Fujitsu FUTRO S100 Thin client is designed for calculations in the composition of server systems and supports 1GB DDR2 memory, as well as installing a compact flash drive. The device is equipped with two USB 2.0 port, VGA port, and Ethernet connector, as well as VIA VT1708S audio chip and integrated VIA Chrome9 HC3 graphics processor supporting DirectX 9.0. VIA Chromotion engine provides hardware acceleration with MPEG-2, MPEG-4, WMV9 and VC1.
Fujitsu FUTRO S100 Thin client is compatible with eLux RL, eLux Lite and Windows CE 6.0 operating systems. It is available for business customers. There are no information about release date and price.
