Japanese company, Futen has developed an unusual USB drive, called Lockface, which is uses face recognize technology to verify users.
This Futen Lockface USB drive must be connected to a computer and an image from a webcam. Futen Lockface USB drive is previously shot picture of authorized by the data user, the device in a second analysis of the image establishes the identity of the owner. Installing additional software on the PC is not required. The manufacture claims that the probability of error does not exceed 2% (“wrong” person in 1.91% of cases).
The face recognition function can be turned off, but the protecting data encryption is still uses 256-bit AES encryption. Dimensions of Futen Lockface USB flash drive are 22x4x55 mm.
Futen Lockface USB drive is already on sale in Japan for about $110 for a 4GB version.
