GamePark GP2X Caanoo Linux-based 3D game console
GamePark Holdings (GPH) has developed a portable game console, called the GP2X Caanoo, which is based on Linux software platform.
Inside of the new game console is used a 533MHz ARM processor, a graphics processing unit (GPU) with 3D capabilities (3D-enabled), 128MB of memory, and SD/SDHC memory card as storage.
The GamePark GP2X Caanoo is packs a 3.5-inch display with resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, vibration motor, G-sensor, and optional Wi-Fi dongle. Dimensions of GamePark GP2X Caanoo are 146 x 70 x 18.5 mm and weight approximately 140g.
The Linux-based GP2X handheld game console is able to run Linux’s games, play video MPEG4, Xvid, DivX and AVI, listen to songs and view digital photos. In addition, the novelty can be e-book reader.
It is expected that the Caanoo “Wiz” game console will go on sale later this month (but according to other sources, in mid-August) and will cost from $120 to $150 depending on the configuration.
