Garmin-ASUS Nüvifone M20: phone with advanced navigation
Alliance Garmin-ASUS (which includes Garmin and ASUSTeK Computer) presented a Nüvifone M20 communicator.
For the first time this device was shown at the MWC 2009. The new GPS device is equipped with a 2.8-inch touchscreen TFT LCD with a resolution of 640×480 pixels, 3MP camera with autofocus and Geo-tagged SMS function, Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b/g), Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, miniUSB port, accelerometer, 4GB or 8GB of internal memory, and GPS receiver.
This Garmin-ASUS Nüvifone M20 has pre-installed navigation application, Garmin Nüvi, equipped with a set of maps and lists of notable places (hotels, restaurants, shops, gas stations, etc.) for North America, Eastern and Western Europe, and other regions.
Also its online applications has Connected Services, integrates information about the location in its navigation and phone, and an Opera internet browser. The growing list of programs includes information about traffic jams, weather, flight status, and schedule of cinemas, as well as Google Maps services and White Pages.
It has Ciao!TM Location, permits at any time to view the situation and status of friends, integrates compatible social network, seeing the location of friends on a map. The user can also configure Communicator to auto-update information on the location of network members. The original partners are Ciao! Buddy Beacon and are GyPSii.
Garmin-ASUS Nüvifone M20 supports the work in networks GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900/1800/1900 MHz and UMTS/HSDPA 900/2100 MHz or GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/1800/1900 MHz and UMTS/HSDPA 850/1900 MHz (depending on distribution region). The size of the device is 95.3×52.5×12.8 mm and weight is 99g.
