General Dynamics Itronix GD8200 13.3-inch rugged notebook with high-end specifications

General Dynamics has just released a new rugged laptop called the Itronix GD8200. The notebook is designed for use in extreme environment such as fields or outdoors.

This Sandy Bridge-based General Dynamics Itronix GD8200 is meets the MIL-STD-810G standard and IP65 rated which is including 48-inch drop, shock, vibration, blowing rain, sand and dust, water pressure, drip exposure, altitude, high/low temperature, freeze/thaw, temperature shock, humidity, explosive atmosphere, salt fog, contamination by fluids, solar radiation, fungus, acidic atmosphere, acoustic noise, and gunfire shock. In additional, it is offering the right balance of durability, portability, and computing power mobile.

The heart of new Itronix GD8200 rugged laptop is a 2.2GHz Intel Core i7-2655LE vPro mobile processor, 2GB SDRAM (expandable to 8GB), up to 750GB hard drive or 256GB SSD, and a DVD drive (able to replace with extra batteries), as well as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and 4G LTE connectivity.

General Dynamics Itronix GD8200 rugged notebook has a 13.3-inch LED-backlit touchscreen LCD display with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and support for sunlight-viewable DynaVue II technology. There are two USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 ports. Dimensions of Itronix GD8200 are 292 x 305 x 60 mm and weight 3.5 kg.

The price of General Dynamics Itronix GD8200 is starting $4,460 with Windows 7 Professional operating system pre-installed.
