Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (Hitachi GST) is preparing to release a new hard drive, the Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000. It is coming in 3TB capacity, and has features 3.5-inch form factor, and 7,200rpm spindle work. The Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 HDD packs 64MB of buffer memory and uses SATA 6.0 Gbps interface.

In addition, Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 is up to 2.9/6.8 Bels of idle/load sound outputs. Dimensions of Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 are 102 x 147 x 26 mm and weight about 690g.

Besides 3TB version, Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 HDD is also comes in 1.5TB and 2TB of capacity.

Hitachi GST offers another hard drive, the Hitachi Deskstar 5K3000. The drive can store of 1TB, 2TB, 3TB flavors. Hitachi Deskstar 5K3000 HDD equipped with 32MB buffer, 5400rpm spindle speed and utilized SATA 6.0 Gbps connectivity.

The cost of Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 and Deskstar 5K3000 is not reported yet.
