Hitachi GST (Global Storage Technologies) has just announced latest external hard drive, called the Hitachi LifeStudio. It has little beyond design changes and simple storage and backup, which are combines highly reliable storage with new levels of data protection, including content organization, management, socialization and navigation for both local and online content.

The new Hitachi LifeStudio external HDD family comes in four types – the Hitachi LifeStudio Mobile Plus (320GB/500GB), the Hitachi LifeStudio Mobile (250GB/320GB/500GB), the Hitachi LifeStudio Desk Plus (1TB/2TB) and the Hitachi LifeStudio Desk (500GB/1TB/2TB). All of them are connected to the computer through the USB 2.0 interface and guaranteed compatibility with Windows and Mac OS X.

The front panel of the Hitachi LifeStudio Plus has an integrated 4GB USB key for the ultimate in flexibility that provides a quick way to sync important files and folders for grab n’ go ease.

Hitachi LifeStudio external hard drive family should go on sale in mid-July at range price of $80 to $220 depending on type and model.
