Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (Hitachi GST) has released the industry’s first enterprise-class solid state drives dubbed the Hitachi Ultrastar SSD400S. New storage solution is utilized 25nm SLC NAND flash memory chip and a 2.5-inch form factor.
The Ultrastar SSD400S is offering highly reliable storage, for example, the 400GB SSD can endure up to 35 petabytes (PB) of random writes that equivalent of writing 19.2TB/day for five years.
The Hitachi SSD400S solid state drives can read and write speeds of up to 536MB/s and 502MB/s, respectively.
New Hitachi Ultrastar SSD400S is currently shipping with select OEMs. This drive will comes with or without an encryption configuration.
