HP has announced updates to its notebook offer, including the new HP EliteBook 8740w. This notebook has a gunmetal anodized-aluminium finish that makes sexier look. HP EliteBook 8740w mobile workstation has brings latest USB 3.0 SuperSpeed interface.

HP EliteBook 8740w notebook is boasts a Core i5 or i7 processor, a professional graphics card accelerator (a 1GB ATI FirePro M7820, or 1GB Nvidia Quadro FX 2800M/FX 3800M), up to 16GB of DDR3 SDRAM, up to 500GB SATA hard drive or up to 256GB SSD.

It has packs a 17-inch LED backlit display with WXGA+ or WUXGA resolution, and a DVD or Blu-ray drive. HP EliteBook 8740w notebook is equipped with Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, Gigabit Ethernet, D-Sub and DisplayPort outputs, an Express Card/54 slot, and two USB 3.0 ports as well as two USB 2.0 ports.

It is optional a mobile broadband with GPS and 2 megapixel webcam. The 8740w has also a spill-resistant keyboard. Dimensions of HP EliteBook 8740w are 397.5×285.5×36.5 mm and weight 3.57 kg. The HP EliteBook 8740w mobile workstation will be shipping in April 2010 for price tag starting $1,999.
