HP (Hewlett-Packard) has start selling an updated version of its mobile workstation, the HP EliteBook 8740W. This notebook is packs an aluminum chassis in gunmetal color (black) with ruggedized design.
The HP EliteBook 8740W laptop is powered by an Intel Core i5 and i7 Extreme Edition processor with support for Turbo Boost. In high-end configuration of HP EliteBook 8740W is 16 GB of RAM, 500 GB hard drive or up to 256GB solid state drive. The 8740W notebook sports a 17-inch LED-backlit display with resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, nVidia Quadro FX5000M Fermi-based powerful graphics accelerator that has 320 cores and 2GB of GDDR5 memory with supported API DirectX 11.
The HP EliteBook 8740w is built-in DVD burner (or Blu-ray drive), Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, and optional GPS and 3G module for mobile networks.
