I-O Data announced to release its new internal Blu-ray writer, namely I-O Data BRD-SH12B, which is built on Hitachi-LG Data Storage component.
New I-O Data BRD-SH12B is equipped with 4MB buffer memory and supports SATA interface. It is allows burning on BD-R discs at up to 12x speed. It is supported storage media capacity of 25GB and 50GB. According to the manufacturer, for the burning at 25GB just requires 10 minutes.
The I-O Data BRD-SH12B also provides BD-RE at 2x, DVD-R/+R at 16x, DVD-RAM at 12x, DVD-R/+R DL and DVD+R at 8x, DVD-RW at 6x, CD-R at 48x, and CD-RW at 24x.
Dimensions of I-O Data BRD-SH12B Blu-ray drive are 146x172x41.3 mm and weight is 800g. I-O Data BRD-SH12B can be purchased at $315 and it will be available this month in Japan.
