Intel 320GB 34nm solid state drive

According to the information appeared on the network, Intel Corporation has continued the successful development of its new SSD family, also known under the code name of Postville SSD family. These SSDs are built on 34 nm NAND memory chip and includes a model with a capacity of 80GB, 160GB and even 320 GB.

In doing so, it is expected that the new Postville SSD family will cost much less than the existing similar production of Intel. For example, the cost models for 80GB and 160GB will be roughly $100 less than the price X25-M series with the same capacity. Regarding the version with a capacity of 320 GB of information is lacking, however, this SSD will be cheaper than its analogue.

Thus, Intel has a golden opportunity to expand the consumer market of SSD, giving the device a solid brand name and with a sufficiently large volume of relatively low cost. This may encourage many buyers prefer the traditional hard disk the same size and cost of SSD, featuring the same high reliability and performance.
