Intel has already attracted general attention, producing 34nm Intel X25-M G2 Postville (model number SSDSA2MH080G2C1) to 80 GB, made in the form factor 2.5-inch and equipped with a SATA II interface. It also is soon to be available 160GB version of the device.
However, Intel is not going to rest on attracted product and is already developing a second generation 34-nanometer SSD, which will include a model with a capacity of 80GB, 160GB and even 300GB. Last changed will be the most capacious SSD from Intel. In addition, it should be faster than existing storage, X25-M.
The key point, however, remain “the price issue.” Most likely, SSD in the near future will retain its status as a solution for users seeking to achieve maximum performance no matter what the cost. Suffice it to say that the new X25-M Postville model with a capacity of 160GB will sell for 360 euros.
