Intel X25-V SSD, budget-friendly and available now

Intel is begun shipping their budget-friendly solid state drives (SSD), known as Intel X25-V. This Intel SSD is made in the 2.5-inch form factor and based on multi-level cell (MLC) NAND flash memory technology. Intel X25-V SSD is coming in 40GB of capacity and uses a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface.

The Intel X25-V SSD has deliver data up to 170MB/s in read and up to 35MB/s in write. It has perform 25 thousand I/O Operations per second (IOPS) in 4kb, 1.2 million hours MTBF. Intel X25-V SSD is designed for use in netbooks and notebooks. In addition, Intel X25-V SSD can be used in desktops as a system disk to faster boot OS. Intel X25-V SSD is offered at an estimated price of $124.99.

Recall, OCZ Technology has also budget SSD, called OCZ Onyx. It is a 2.5-inch drive and comes in 32GB capacities storage. The OCZ Onyx SSD is capable delivering up to 125MB/s in read and up to 70MB/s in write. OCZ Onyx SSD has priced at $99.
