Intel Yolo affordable smartphone in Africa via Safaricom

Intel and the Kenya’ company, Safaricom announced a new affordable Android-powered smartphone, namely the Yolo. As the first device in Africa with ‘Intel inside’, this phone brings its budget-oriented single-core 1.2GHz Atom Z2420 ‘Lexington’ mobile chipset.

Safaricom’s Intel Yolo smartphone has a 3.5-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of HVGA (320 x 480 pixels). Running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, the new Yolo packs 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, and a MicroSD card slot.

Intel Yolo provides Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, FM tuner, and 1500 mAh battery. In addition, there is a 5-megapixel camera and support for HSPA+ mobile network.

Folks in Africa can be purchased Intel Yolo smartphone via Safaricom for 10,999 Kenyan shillings (about $126 or €94).
