Iomega has introduced a new network attached storage (NAS). This is the Iomega StorCenter ix4-200D and promises, among other benefits, up to 8 TB storage and receiving files via Bluetooth. The new StorCenter has brings up to four SATA/SATA II 3.5″ hard drive bays, it capabilities to the emerging market 2TB, 4TB, and 8TB capacities. It also has support RAID 5, RAID 10 and JBOD configurations.
Iomega StorCenter ix4-200d quad-drive NAS is suitable for your business or home, it allows a storage system up to 8 TB accessible via network or even from anywhere in the world with Internet access. It also serves as DLNA and UPnP system to serve videos in a remote monitoring system (with additional USB cameras), FTP and HTTP server, being other. It has also integrated EMC Retrospect backup software.
Iomega StorCenter ix4-200d quad-drive NAS comes with iSCSI block-level access for efficient storage utilization, QuikTransfer button for easy one-touch copying of selected files, new front panel LCD, device-to-device replication to network targets, and Windows Active Directory support. It also compatible is UPuP and DLNA.
It has three USB 2.0 ports that can plug in new hard drives or flash drives, and shared by network or back up independently. User can also connect up to three printers and as print server. Together with Axis network cameras, it can mount a video surveillance system. In addition the system provides Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP) that enables an autonomous copy the images captured with a camera connected via USB only.
Iomega StorCenter ix4-200d quad-drive NAS will be available from next week at prices based on capacity (2TB, 4TB, and 8TB) of $699.99, $899.99 and $1899.99 respectively.
